Wall height and mounting height drive the choice. A wall pack mounted at 12 feet with a wide distribution pushes light out into the lot; the same fixture mounted at 8 feet beside a door creates glare for anyone approaching it. Full cutoff and cutoff versions exist for exactly this reason, and many jurisdictions limit uplight and backlight at the property line. Photocell and motion versions decide whether the fixture behaves automatically.
This group covers traditional and slim wall packs, architecturally styled sconces, up-down cylinders, and adjustable-head wall units, in black, white, bronze and other finishes. Wattage ranges from small decorative units to 100 watt-plus commercial wall packs.
