Buying guide: Recessed Lighting

Three numbers decide whether a recessed fixture works in your ceiling. The cutout diameter has to match the existing hole, the housing has to suit whether the ceiling is accessible (new construction) or finished (remodel), and the trim has to match the aperture you already have if you are replacing only the trim. Insulation-contact rating matters when the fixture sits inside an insulated ceiling; non-IC housings require clearance and cannot be buried in insulation.

We carry LED downlights from 2 inch to 8 inch in round and square apertures, adjustable and wall-wash versions, shallow housings for low plenums, airtight models for envelope compliance, and retrofit kits that convert an existing can to LED without touching the ceiling. Selectable CCT and selectable wattage models are called out in the specification table so you can confirm the exact positions before ordering.
