Dimmers

Dimmers control light level, and the load type decides which dimmer works.

Buying guide: Dimmers

LED loads need a dimmer rated for LED, not just a derated incandescent dimmer: LED drivers draw current in short pulses and many dimmers mis-read that as a fault, producing flicker, buzz or a low-end drop-out. TRIAC and ELV dimmers work with different driver types and are not interchangeable; 0-10V dimming is a completely separate low-voltage control pair that needs its own wiring. Minimum load and maximum load both matter, and a dimmer with a neutral connection behaves better on low-wattage LED circuits.

We stock TRIAC and ELV dimmers, 0-10V controls, slide and rotary dimmers, and integrated switch-dimmer devices, with LED load ratings listed per item.
