Length, base type and color rendering decide the match. A 4 foot T8 with a medium bi-pin base is the most common lamp in North America; a 2 foot U-bend fits a troffer that a straight lamp cannot. Where the fixture is on a dimming or programmed-start ballast, the lamp must be rated for it. Many buyers now replace the lamp with a T8 LED tube instead — in that case the ballast question moves to the tube.
We stock T8 and T5 linear lamps, U-bend troffer lamps and high-output versions, in the standard color temperatures and CRI options.
