Base type, shape and color temperature decide fit; lumen output and beam angle decide the result. A 60 watt equivalent A19 and a 60 watt equivalent BR30 produce completely different light even at the same lumen figure. Where a lamp replaces an HID source, the ballast has to be bypassed or the lamp must be ballast-compatible, and getting that wrong destroys the lamp immediately.
This group covers A19, A21, A23, BR, PAR, MR16, GU10, candelabra and globe lamps, PL and PL pin-base lamps, T8 and T5 LED tubes, and corn cob and HID retrofit lamps. Dimmability and dimming protocol are listed per item.
