Compact fluorescent lamps keep older pin-base fixtures running: PL and PL-L twin-tube lamps, quad-tube lamps and the GU24 self-ballasted versions.

Buying guide: Compact Fluorescent Lamps

The critical number is the pin configuration and the base type — a G24d-1 will not fit a G24q-2 socket even though both look like four pins from a distance. Wattage and color temperature should match the lamps already in the fixture so the room reads evenly, and dimmable CFLs require a dimming ballast.

We stock twin-tube, quad-tube and PL-L lamps in the common bases, in 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K.
