Buying guide: Indoor Lighting

The practical question for most buyers is not which fixture looks best but which one fits an existing opening, an existing circuit and an existing control. That is why every product page here lists the cutout size or housing series, the input voltage, the wattage and the color temperature options before anything else. A 6-inch can and a 4-inch can are not interchangeable, and a 0-10V dimmable fixture will not dim on a wall dimmer.

We stock the fixture families electrical contractors already install on service calls: recessed downlights in 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 inch sizes, edge-lit and back-lit flat panels, linear strip and vapor-tight fixtures for garages and shops, high bays for tall ceilings, and emergency and exit units that satisfy code on the egress path. Where a manufacturer offers selectable wattage or selectable CCT, one SKU covers several configurations and the switch is set at installation.
