What decides the fit is the blade span against the room size, the mounting against the ceiling, and the control against how the room is used. A 52 inch fan at 8 foot ceiling height in a 200 square foot room is right; the same fan in a 100 square foot bedroom is overpowered. Downrod length sets the blade height, which should clear the floor by at least 7 feet. Damp-rated fans can go on a covered porch; indoor-only fans cannot.
This group includes standard and hugger mount fans, fans with integrated LED light kits, remote-controlled and pull-chain versions, and damp-rated models, in the common blade spans.
